General Duties: Junior or Intermediate Wildlife Biologist will conduct wildlife inventories, provide input on wildlife and wildlife habitat components of environmental impact assessment projects and a variety of natural resource planning projects, (e.g., predisturbance assessments, biophysical assessments), This position involves projects within our strategic end-markets including oil and gas, transportation, power, infrastructure and mining. Work as part of the wildlife team both locally and in remote locations for extended periods of time The position also involves writing technical reports and providing input to proposals Requirements: A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (acquired or on-going) in a related field (biology, ecology, zoology) Possess a professional biologist designation (or eligibility), A minimum of 5 or more years experience conducting wildlife and wildlife habitat assessments, Strong skills in either bird, mammal, and/or amphibian identification Experience with Western, Prairie and Northern ecosystems, particularly Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan, Yukon and Northwest Territories, Experience with wildlife legislation, including provincial and federal regulatory requirements and agencies would be an asset, Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team, Strong written and verbal communication skills, Basic computer and software skills, (e.g. Excel, Word), A valid driver’s license required, The successful applicant can expect to work in physically demanding terrain, under adverse weather conditions, long and sometimes irregular hours that may include work on weekends or shifts, remote locations, and from small aircraft.
